This project: The river city school (old american legion building) in Ilwaco Washington. This historic building had outdated framing and was falling apart. The roof had almost 6 layers, consisting of cedar shake, composition and lots of felt paper.

The tear off begins. We tore through multiple layers in the first day, filling 2 waste drop boxes completely.

Completely torn off. Now our lead framer Robby and Engineer Mike begin feeding 2X4's and 2X6's between the skip sheathing in order to strengthen the interior framing.

Tearing off tons and tons (literally) of roofing helped relieve the load this old roof was bearing. Robby (pictured here) and Mike (behind the camera) began the extensive reinforcing of the truss's. They had to work fast because the roofing crew was laying plywood and they would soon be in the dark!
